Position Summary:

Under general direction from the Housekeeping Supervisor, responsible for maintaining a steady supply of clean linens for the hotel in the Casino’s ongoing efforts to provide excellent guest service to four diamond standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all stages of linen processing, including, but not limited to, collecting, transporting, sorting, weighing, loading and unloading (washers, dryers, and chutes), ironing, folding, storing, and delivering.
  • Maintain cleanliness of laundry machinery and laundry area.
  • Maintain stock levels.
  • Respond to guest service issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Perform additional laundry & cleaning services, as needed.
  • Perform laundry-cleaning activities in accordance with established brand/hotel guest service and sustainability standards ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Sort, count, and pre-treat soiled linen in preparation for laundering.
  • Load and unload washers and dryers.
  • Maintain equipment as trained.
  • Fold, store, and distribute towels/linens.
  • Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment.
  • Assist with other housekeeping tasks in the event of staffing shortages.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, pulling bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching, kneeling, and bending.
  • Operate heavy machinery and use cleaning chemicals; assist in the room cleaning as needed, i.e. stripping rooms, making beds, etc.

· Follows applicable TMCR company policies and procedures including Hotel Operations policies & procedures.

  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Direct Reports:  None.

Access to Sensitive Areas:  Hotel housekeeping storage areas and all sensitive areas when accompanied with authorization.

Signatory Authority:  None.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, unless waived by Human Resources Management.  Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.  Must have outstanding organizational and time management skills, as well as excellent communication and guest service skills.  Previous hospitality experience preferred.  Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
  • Skill in the use of cleaning tools, chemicals, cleaners, and disinfectants.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a structured working environment.
  • Ability to work with timeliness and thoroughness.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50-75 pounds. Requires ability to climb ladders and have stamina for constant walking, bending, stooping, reaching and pushing of medium to heavy weight items and equipment on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the work environment is noisy and employee will work indoors and occasionally outdoors (exposed to weather conditions). Additionally, the employee may be exposed to cigarette smoke.
