Purpose of Position:

Direct the recurrent financial analyses of operations, to include daily, monthly and annual basis for the guidance of Casino Management.  Responsible for the Casino’s financial budgeting and planning for both the short and long term. 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and financial data in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other metrics bearing on the fiscal soundness and effectiveness of the Casino.

• Create annual operating budget that is aligned to the strategic plan and perform forecasting to provide visibility into business results to enable business decisions.

• Develop assumptions to be used in the financial models for the annual operating budget aligned with the strategic plan.

• Direct, plan, and evaluate the annual budget for the property from all supporting documents to the presentation prepared for Senior Management.  Consult on major economic objectives and policies for the Casino.

• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures, and analyze and report variances. Explain variances in budget (actual vs. budget) on a monthly basis.

• Assist in the preparation of all Marketing Analysis, which includes but not limited to event and promotion post-formats, actuals from the event or promotions, and gaming statistics.

• Act as the financial planning point person for operations and Accounting. Stay current on finance industry trends.

• Consult with team and other departments to determine major variance causes, remediate alternatives to mitigate in future, improve financial planning, and cost justification.

• Furnish internal reports, revise and update reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnish external reports as necessary. Present financial analysis to Senior Management and provide guidance.

• Develop pertinent KPI’s and report regularly to Casino Management in a timely manner.

• Ensure compliance with Casino-wide policies and procedures.

• Responsible for staffing, training, scheduling, evaluations and issuing disciplinary actions to Team Members as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field is required, unless otherwise waived by Executive Management.

• Requires five (5) years of progressive financial analysis experience, including significant budgeting experience.  Casino knowledge is preferred.

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, analytical, financial modeling skills, decision-making, organization and problem-solving skills are required. Strong knowledge and utilization of ERP systems and related systems is required.

• Excellent skillset with data mining and knowledge of databases.  Advanced knowledge and practical application experience with SQL, Cognos, TM1 preferred.
